Being There Senior Care of Catonsville, MD was founded in 2003 by Linda Cromwell, a private-duty nurse who saw a growing need to help families trying to provide dignified, reliable elder care.
Linda’s goal was to establish a service that helped seniors maintain independent living through a variety of in-home care services ranging from simple daily-task assistance to 24 / 7 personal care. Today the company also offers additional elderly care services to seniors living in nursing homes, assisted-living facilities and hospitals.

“After years of watching my mother care for my brother, who was severely disabled, I learned a lot about compassion. I also learned how hard it is to provide such intensive care without the assistance of others.
“Well, with people who suffer from debilitating diseases, such as multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, or aging-related problems ( stroke, dementia, Alzheimers … and the list goes on ), the end is never in sight. The caregiver often doesn’t see that light at the end of the tunnel.
“I started Being There Senior Care in 2003 in Howard County, Maryland – recognizing that the baby boomers, who were now caring for their aging parents in record numbers, needed more help than ever, especially since so many were still involved in their careers.
“With years of experience in private-duty nursing, I knew that people not only needed a break and assistance, but that they needed caregivers they could really trust and actually incorporate into their families.
“Rest assured that each time I place a caregiver with a family, I personally interview the family and try my best at ‘match making’ so there is a trust and compatibility from the very beginning. I work with the family to customize a care plan that accommodates each family’s unique situation while ensuring that your loved one is treated with respect and maintains his or her dignity, no matter what.
“You have my personal commitment that our goal with each client is to improve or maintain the health of each client. And, we pay special attention to each client’s emotional well-being, recognizing how upsetting and depressing it can be to become dependent on others.
“Whether you or a loved one needs assistance periodically – perhaps a trip to a specialist in a downtown hospital, and you’re not able or interested in going it alone—or you need ongoing assistance and prefer to have regularly scheduled services, Being There Senior Care and I are there for you.
